In addition to scholarly publications, Dean Muhayimana attended and presented at national, regional, and international conferences about language educational policies, critical and transformational pedagogy, as well as effective learning practices. Dean Muhayimana has been exposed to multicultural education and global perspectives as he navigated the Belgian and French education structures from pre-school to undergraduate level in Rwanda, and he has embraced the American rainbow education system for Masters’ and doctoral studies. Born and raised in a multilingual environment (English, French, Kinyarwanda, Kiswahili, and Latin), Muhayimana developed linguistic and communicative skills that have enabled him to become an effective communicator in person, on paper, and on the podium.
Dean Muhayimana has been lucky to have extensive teaching experience at different levels. He has taught in primary, secondary, and higher education with multiple leadership duties such as Deputy Head Teacher in charge of Studies (Prefet des Etudes), Department Head, Language Center Director, Interim Human Resources Director, Director of the University President’s Office, Dean of the College of Education, and Interim Vice-President for Academic Affairs at the University of Kibungo (UNIK).
