The UNIK research policy identifies three research priority areas: Food security for sustainable development, Education quality for sustainable development, and Economics for sustainable development. Research sub-themes have also been identified within each priority area. UNIK research activities are published in the peer-reviewed International Journal of the University of Kibungo Association (UNIK Int. Journ.) for scientific articles. This publication comes out in three parts: Part One: Education and Clinical Psychology, Part Two: Agriculture and Rural Development, and Part Three: Economics and Management. For now, each part is published once a year. In addition, Faculties organize regular seminars and conferences where academics share their research findings with colleagues. Otherwise, partnership is very cherished by the University of Kibungo in research and publications. Worldwide, several institutions of higher learning are UNIK partners, submitting joint research projects for research grants, co-publishing, co-organizing international conferences, and exchanging academic and research staff and students as well.
