Égide Karuranga, Ph.D.

Professor Egide Karuranga is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kibungo since October 2017.

He has a PhD in Strategic Management from Laval University, Canada. He has also a Msc in Information Technology Management and an MBA in International Business.

Prof. Karuranga has a number of years of experience in academic management. Before joining UNIK, Prof. Karuranga has served as an Associate Professor of International Business Management in the School of Business, at Laval University, Canada (2012- 2017) where he taught various courses such as International Human Resources Management, Management International, Business Intelligence, Gestion de l’expatriation, L’entreprise et sa gestion. 

From August 2006 to December, 2007, Prof Karuranga worked as Assistant Professor at Virginia State University, Marketing & Management, Reginald F. Lewis School of Business, USA and taught Organizational Policy and Strategy and Clashing Views on Current Issues in Management.

From 2008 to 2011, Prof. Karuranga was an Academic Director, of the International Development and Humanitarian Action program, FSA at Laval University, as aDirector of Carrefour Amérique Latine (CAL) at Laval University from 2008 to 2010, as an Assistant Professor of International Business Management, School of Business, Laval University, Canada. January, 2008- June, 2012.

Prof. Karuranga also worked as a Visiting Professor at Tec de Monterrey, Queretaro Campus, Mexico from January to December 2014 where he taught Design&Organizational Structures, Analysis and Optimization of Industrial Value Chain. At Nancy Business School (France), he taught Current Issues in International Business Management, and “Intelligence d’affaires en milieu hostile et deficient” in March 2014.

Prof. Karuranga also worked as a visiting lecturer at Adventist University of Central Africa, Rwanda from 2016 to 2017where he was teaching courses such as Operations and Total Quality Management and Strategic Modelling

This experience in the academic world is coupled professional training delivered to Universities such as at Université d’État de Haiti where he delivered a training on Post-disaster Strategic Management and Socio-economic Development for Senior Government Officials. He also delivered a training to Rwandan Diaspora of Canada on Financial Literacy.
